Sushi Suprise

I'm really not a sushi person. At All. I've been working above a restaurant that serves "Asian Cuisine". i went in to order lunch and the owner offered me a new sushi roll to try for free. Being the Hungry Hippo I am, I accepted it and shared it with my co-workers. Before I could return with the reviews of the raw fish, he arrived at the office door with four more plates filled with experimental sushi. here they are.

Someone gagged after a bite of this one.
Veggie Roll (Avocado and Rice) and Philly Roll (Smoked Salmon and Cream Cheese)

my FAVORITE. Dragon Roll (Tuna and Crab Meat). Im pretty sure I was mesmorized by the name before the taste.

Jaw-Dropping Alexis Bittar Pieces

This cuff is a love child of the 1980's and the new millenium. The angular shape makes the piece edgy while the neon pink color makes it very feminine. The melted gold gives the cuff that antique look that Alexis Bittar keeps consistant throughout his collections. this cuff comes in gold as well but this one caught my eye These pair of earrings, (to me), look like a gold peice of paper that was crumbled up due to an indecisive mind. BUT to everyone else, it should look like a "pretty & tough" combination that comes from the same collection as the pink neon cuff, Miss Havisham.

These knot earrings come in Rhodium, Gold, Teal, and Blue. I like these becasue they are big, and they're knots. I kid! The shaping of the earrings draw people in, which is the freaking point!

Gradutaion Clogs

When i returned home from Graduation, my aunt said the most glorious words a girl could hear: "What would you like for Graduation, let's order it right now". Knowing that she's a SUCKER for shoes, i said "Let's get sum shhoooes!"
we ended up finding these camel colored clogs from Free People. Personally, I fell in love with the wraparound ankle strap, and the platforms make them the most comfortable shoes ever! I might "wear" them out this summer.

Deja Vu Vintage

Located in Singapore, this vintage seller's way of business made me wonder. Deja Vu Vintage sells one-of-a-kind pieces from all over the world from all different ages. I was perusing the site, looking for anything white (Graduation). I found something, then i read this paragraph.

"If it's something you saw in our email updates or women's wear you're after, send an email to info@dejavuvintage.com or call 6333 6630 indicating which item you're interested in, and you will receive payment instructions"

if you have to call for the price...you can't afford it. I looked through the rest of the site in vain.

Yea, Sewanee's Right

Traveling down to Sewanee made my April ! Not only did I love it, but I'm excited about the fact that I get to go back & Probably stay for 4 more years & with 9 great people I call my Posse. Although I may miss somethings like Chipotle, Chick-fil-a, & an Forever 21, I'm kinda okay with it if I get to attend the wonderful University of the South.

Smile, Sewanee.

I'm on my way to the place that I will soon call home. Sewanee:The University of the South. People have asked me over and over, "Have you seen the school?" Then when I say no, they proceed to ask, "What if you don't like it?" I hate that question, not because of the fear of not liking it, but because it all depends on attitude. If you think positively about the experience you will have then you will enjoy the good things that happen. HOWEVER, if you think negatively about it, you will only notice the bad things that happen. Some great philosopher probably already came up with this but I think its a good theory to apply to anything in life.

DISCOVERIES OF THE DAY

1)"Thus in silence dreams' projection..." Do you recognize the begin of this quote from Walt Whitman. It sits (comfortably) at the Dupont Metro Station around the escalators. Never have I been able to read the whole quote. Today is no exception.
2)It suprises me that in all my 17 years of living I know very little about the universities around me. (Specifically Georgetown and GWU). I learned my lesson the first time with American so I brought The Nargle to be useless with me and got to Georgetown just in time for the tour. =)
3)Exploring the campus, I learned I need to visit my local comfort shoes provider b/c my feet have their own heartbeat.
4)"You don't have to be bald to bad !"-Damilare. Bad b!tches, a short hairdo doesn't make you bad! Your hair cut may be fierce, but you have be consistant from head to toe. Not from crest to chin.
5)I HAVE A LOT HOMEWORK that I know I should work on right this instant.
6)Boys are very predictable.=)

American U Art

Yesterday, I escorted my cousins from New York to American University to check out the school. Maybe it's because I'm a senior, but I can safely say that if you've gone to one information session, you've seen them all. All the information given is either online or on the tour. My suggestion is to go online and find out all about the school then visit and go on the tour. My point in all this, I was bored. So I explored.

The university was having their entries from 2009 Design Expo. The work was G O O D. I was most impressed with the Typography work. I was a little scared to take picture of their artwork, so I looked for different example for you guys.

“I Think of 6 Impossible Things Before Breakfast”

I spent a little time with Alice in a place she calls Wonderland last Wednesday night. Let me tell you, it was a Cinematic Adventure ! But I’m a little disappointed to report that some parts of the plot and a lot of the conflicts seemed all too familiar. I noticed a little Harry Potter, some Narnia: The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe, a dose of Wizard of Oz, and a pinch of Shrek. I really don't blame Disney; there are limited things you can do in a fantasy film. It’s a good thing the dresses Alice wore averted my attention.


I was asked to duplicate the red dress for prom. The different fabrics and large amounts of tulle would've taken over my life until graduation (from College). I still would've enjoyed saying I did that. Seems like a project for my "grown up" years.

Easter Sunday !

Lent is finally over and all the promises we made God (and probably broke) have expired. I usually try to give up something that's bad for me. This year, it was cursing and vulgarity which I replaced with structured morning prayers. The sad part about the end of Lent is the fact that everyone goes back to their silly bad habits. But I know my conscience will not allow that to happen smoothly.Because I so miserably failed at my lenten sacrifice, for another 40 days I'm going to try (operative word "try") to continue to keep my promises to God.

Dressing Room Shopping

Once in a while it’s nice to go to the store and try on EVERYTHING they sell. Ok I exaggerate (I wouldn’t want to be held responsible for a disaster of an outfit).
The Nargle and I spent a little time in Cachѐ for this very occasion. (yet we had no cash). The idea behind “Dressing Room” shopping is to try on things you like, things you may never wear or dream of wearing, and most importantly things you can never afford without an income. DR shopping gives you the chance to step out of your normal closet and step into someone else’s, only bigger, MUCH BIGGER. Just like becoming a new person. Once you step into the room full of mirrors, this is where the magic happens. But wait! Before the magic, helpful hints for DR shopping: 1) wear a good bra with removable straps (helps to see the garment neater), 2) wear comfy clothing like a sweat suit or a T-shirt and yoga pants (these are easy to slip on and off) 3) don’t carry a big handbag (it will become cumbersome to lug around the store or the mall).
Ok back to the magic…You choose a sleek white cocktail dress with incredible beaded details across the shoulder. (TRUE LIFE: I Want This Dress). You add a couple more hangers with different color dresses to your small collection, but your heart is already set. The sales associate asks you if she, sometimes he, sometimes both, can start a dressing room for you, and they take your samples and tuck them away for later. You continue to browse the store not exactly looking at the clothes but now comparing them all to the white cocktail dress. Since everything appears to be inferior, you give up the hunt and retreat to the fitting rooms. Now, there’s a system to the order in which you try on clothes. First, you try on the items that you chose just to waste time. Next, the items you like the most and will probably dream about and drool over. These will probably take the most time simply because you want to stay in those clothes as long as possible. Taking pictures of the merchandise will probably occur more than once. Lastly, you try on something you feel indifferent about. This will sometimes reinforce the feelings about the drool-worthy clothes only because you may not like the third set as much.
Whether you’re ballin like that and you buy everything you try on or you’re a little on the broke side, DR shopping can still be fun. It’s a nice stress reliever or a reassuring way to tell yourself, “Self, you killing ‘em in this dress!”

at this point paying attention in class seems oh so useless. seniors dont / wont go the extra mile for that A anymore. instead of paying attention and at least trying to get the grades i've heard of different (creative) ways to be counterproductive and lazy and (better known as Senoiritis)people who are not yet seniors or forget what it was like are under the impression that this disease is all in our heads...but its not!its a serious disease from which we are all trying to escape by simply graduating. lucky for you i have found some cures. i've asked around and here are some home remedies for this ugly illness.
(1) Cartoon Colorings Pages (a personal favorite)
(2) App Shopping (Blackberry and iPhone alike)
(3) Prom Shopping (dresses, shoes, DATES)
(4) Plan your weekend activities in 1st period on a Monday morning
(5) Text everyone in your phonebook (especially the ones you usually do not dare to)
(6) "I tell myself a joke and then laugh out loud. i wait to see if people laugh with me or give me that "shut up" look" -Giggles Mukira
(7) Day-dream about C O L L E G E.
(8) "Record a video of the final days of your time with your Senior class" -Ginger
